Port of Tyne Unveils New Gantry Crane
– The United Kingdom’s Port of Tyne has unveiled a new gantry crane that will allow the port to expand operations. The crane weighs 750-tons, stands 70 meters high and has the ability to handle vessels up to 13 containers wide.

First Freight Vessel Sails from China to Europe – The Yong Sheng, a 19,000 ton cargo ship, departed from Port Dalian on August 8 th and is expected to arrive at Port Rotterdam 35 days later on September 11 th via Russia’s Northern Sea Route. The traditional southern route via the Suez Canal has a 48 day transit time.
