Legislation Attempts to End Vancouver Trucker Strike – A new piece of legislation proposed for next week in British Columbia is aimed at ending a two-week trucker strike at the Port of Vancouver.  The port truckers argue that they earn less than their counterparts in the rest of their province.  Next week’s legislation proposes a 90 day cooling off period.

Pacific Northwest Port Sharing Agreement Approved by FMC – The Ports of Seattle and Tacoma’s proposal to share certain information about their operations and rates has been approved by the Federal Maritime Commission (FMC).  The agreement is seen as a way for the region to be more competitive against other U.S. West Coast and Canadian gateways.

FDA Bans Another India Drug Manufacturer – The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is prohibiting imports from a facility operated by the Indian generic drug-manufacturer Sun Pharmaceutical Industries.  This is only the latest in a string of FDA bans for Indian generic makers over the past year.  Despite these developments, India remains the second largest drug exporter to the US.
